Install a Windshield Washer Pump to Your Vehicle
A windshield pump plays a crucial role in ensuring road safety, but it’s a largely neglected vehicle part. As the name suggests, it delivers fluid from the car reserve, passes it through the hose, before nozzling and spraying it onto the windshield.
Most car windshield washer pumps are designed to last a lifetime. However, it’s motorized mechanisms aren’t immune to wear and tear. Over time, a pump could cease to function, requiring a replacement.
But what are some telltale signs that a windshield water pump is in need of replacing? One of the most obvious signs is the uneven spray of wiper fluid. When this happens, one of the pumps might already be damaged, and it could only be a matter of time until the other pump gives way, as well.
In some cases, the nozzle, hose, or the reservoir is to blame for a malfunctional windshield pump. For instance, a pump could continue to function even if the hose is starting to leak. When this happens, it could result in a significant decrease in the water pressure.
Another problem could lie in the electrical system, which is made up of a battery, wires, a switch, and fuse. Troubleshooting these parts can help narrow down the root of the problem.
